Real Madrid legend Hugo Sanchez has played down suggestions that Cristiano Ronaldo is past his prime, and is confident the Portugal international will continue to smash records.
Christiano Ronaldo has bagged 30 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions for Madrid this season, but has nonetheless been criticised on more than 1 occasion. It seems fans have been used to his usual astronomical exploits that this is not good enough for them.
The Portuguese has even been outshone by team-mates Benzema and Gareth Bale on several occasions and some have suggested he is past his best.
But Hugo Sanchez is adamant that the 3 time Ballon d'Or winner is still potent and will continue to break records for years to come. "Ronaldo is a very competitive player and this is why he will continue to break records. He is still the main man in Madrid's attack. " Sanchez said.
